Description
Caravaggio: the Lee Hyla opera that might have been American music lost a major composer when Lee Hyla died in 2014. Five years later, in the journal Sounds American, Scott Wheeler wrote an article on an opera Lee had planned to write, on the painter Caravaggio, pinning each of the scenes to one of the paintings. The article gives an idea of how exciting this music is, and makes some pointed comments about the musical world. Info
